Der Winter nähert sich mit großen Schritten. Jetzt Ende September werden die Völker Winterfertig gemacht. Die letzten Kilogramm Winterfutter bekommen die Bienen gereicht, damit sie im Winter nicht hungern müssen. Fluglöcher werden jetzt bald vergittert, damit nur noch Bienen, aber keine Mäuse Zutritt zum Bienenstock haben.
Königinnen, die drei Jahre alt geworden sind, wurden durch neue Königinnen ausgetauscht.
Jetzt kehrt langsam Ruhe am Bienenstand ein und da habe ich zwei alte Fotos gefunden, sie sind von 1981. Einmal zeigen sie mich im Imkeranzug vor einem Bienenkasten. Das andere Foto zeigt meinen Vater, der ein Bienenvolk in luftiger Höhe bearbeitet.
Der heutige Trend zu der Balkonbienenhaltung ist nicht neu.
